Volunteers of America of Florida: Innovare Apartments
Volunteers of America of Florida (VOAFL) is excited to announce that Innovare Apartments, VOAFL’s affordable housing project in St. Petersburg, welcomed the first of its residents on February 14, 2022. The day wasn’t just about providing homes; it signified the beginning of a positive life change for many. VOAFL’s Innovare Apartments supported their mission by providing 50 units of affordable, stable housing— some of which were allocated for extremely low-income individuals. By offering a safe environment and a stable foundation, they reaffirmed their commitment to those who needed it most.
“Today isn’t just about handing over keys to residents; it’s about fostering resilience and self-sufficiency. We believe everyone deserves a home to return to at the end of the day,” said Janet Stringfellow, the CEO/President of Volunteers of America of Florida.
While this was a significant milestone in housing low-income Floridians, the journey was still ongoing. It wasn’t too late to join their efforts. Any form of support — whether financial aid, volunteer time or resources, contributed significantly towards helping their vulnerable community members live a dignified life.
